I almost can't put into words how fabulous our trip to The Chanler Hotel in Newport was. If you followed our Instagram and Snapchats last week, you would have seen a great sneak peek of our visit.
The Chanler is marvelous with historic charm and luxury. I can truly say that as a guest, I felt like royalty. As if the breathtaking property wasn't enough, we were escorted - complimentary champagne in hand - to our private courtyard to find a hot tub and sauna. Two plush robes hung from hooks next to two bottles of Voss water. Steps above led us to our personal balcony with views I didn't even know New England could boast. Once inside I marveled over the king size canopy, artwork, fireplace, and woodwork. The bed actually had steps next to it... suddenly my stout New York bed wasn't cool anymore.
While in Newport we toured the famous Cliff Walk, browsed The Breakers Museum, dined at Spiced Pear, explored the island, and visited the Newport Vineyards and Winery. I'm so smitten by Newport. There is so much beauty in such a small space. The whole trip felt like I was transported to Downton Abbey. I wanted to exchange my ripped jeans for a vintage gown. If you're truly looking to escape, on more levels than one, look into The Chanler. I can only imagine how magical this place is in the Winter as well. Leave the modern world behind, and indulge in old-fashioned hospitality.
