People kept telling us, "You HAVE to check out Savannah." We now know why... it's hauntingly beautiful. Our favorite kind of beautiful. It wouldn't have been Emily's birthday without a few gravestones (seriously, she's obsessed I'm not joking) so this was the perfect two day getaway! We drove from Nashville, and checked into the gorgeous Hotel Indigo, which is one of our fav chains. We loved the ease of the Old Town Trolley to hop on and off as we pleased. It's by far the easiest way to check out a city in one day. It's the same one we took last week in Nashville!
Our favorite stops this time were the Colonial Park Cemetery and the stunning Cathedral of St. John. But really, everything in Savannah is gorgeous, so you could just sit on the trolley and ooh and ahh at everything you pass. We can't get over the Spanish moss. So enchanting.
A few more recommendations: The Ordinary Pub brunch (order the bottomless mimosas, and you get a "to-go-sa.") Betty Bombers diner at the American Legion The Crab Shack on Tybee Island (feed the alligators!) Bonaventure Cemetery (made famous by the book Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) We'll definitely be back to Savannah this Summer because there's still so much to explore. Beach and boating here we come! If you've been, please give us YOUR recommendations in the comments below.
